Which Style Is The Best?
This
question has been asked for centuries. The question has
been answered. No single style is the best. The
commander of the South Korean TuKong unit asked the same
question and got the same answer. The general ordered his
top martial arts fighters to design the best program for
combat fighting. The soldiers designed a program that utilized
different techniques from different styles. They created
a new form called Tu Kong Moo Sul (TKMS - Special
Combat Warrior Technique).
The Key To Fighting
Is Distance
Every
combat situation and fight moves through several distances.
The key to winning a fight is using the right technique/style
for the right distance. Most martial arts styles only cover
a couple of distances. The true Secret to Tukong is "The
Tukong Distance Theory" that
focused its design and origin.
Tukong
Distance Theory
There are 6 possible
distances in every combat situation. No single martial
arts is strong in all the different distances. The
weaknesses can be overcome by using techniques form several
martial arts that are strong at that distance.

TKMS was designed to apply
the proper technique to the proper distance. Instead of
relying on a specific technique to counter moves, TKMS focuses
on adapting your methods to your changing situation. Even
though many styles are capable of performing techniques
at these different distances, they may not be effective
or aggressive enough for Tukong training. The developers
of Tukong Moosul realized this and modified techniques from
many styles to be effective in combat.
What Style Do You Use
For What Distance?
Each person has his or her own unique
distance requirements. Some people are taller, some are
stronger, some are faster, and some are smarter. A person
in a wheel chair has different distance requirements than
an Olympic sprinter. This means the style each person
uses for each distance may be different. The key is knowing
the different techniques of different styles and adapting
them to your situation. Once you have all the techniques
from the many styles you can determine which option you
use in different situations.
Is Tukong Moosul The Best
Program?
The Tukong Moosul program is used
to train combat troops to fight many different enemies
at different distances. This U.S. program has been modified
by Grandmaster In Ki Kim (one of the original designers
of TKMS) to be the best martial arts training program
for Americans in today's society.
In jungle
combat, there are no rules, just like street fighting
in America. One difference is, in America, fighting ends
up involving lawyers. There needs to be a balance between
the extreme conditions of jungle fighting with the environment
of everyday life in America. The TKMS program uses many
philosophy lessons to temper the response of Tukong Students
who may be involved in conflicts.
TKMS reaches
this balance by giving each person the ability to handle
the different distances with whatever amount of force
is needed. This could mean just walking away, or this
could mean using deadly force. It can be used in tournaments
or for urban combat. Once you learn the proper way
to use each technique and the many variations of force
the choice is yours.
