Tukong Training
Tukong Moosul SpecialForce classes consist of several
areas of techniques from several martial arts styles. Although these
techniques may be similar to other styles, many they have been modified
to be more effective for combat fighting. To begin training, prospective
students are encouraged to observe (and participate!) in classes.
Students progress through a the Belt Progression System by meeting
Belt Promotion Requirements.
By attending class twice a week
and training two to six hours each week, a student should be able
to earn a Purple Belt in ten to twelve months. The upper belt levels
require more training and studying. Achieving the Red and Brown
Belts would typically require four months each and the Pum Dan belt
would require an additional six months. At the Pum Dan level, a
student would be expected to continue training and assisting with
instruction for at least twelve months before earning the First
Dan (first degree black belt.) Therefore, with dedication and training,
a student may be able reach First Dan in three to four years.
The lower belt requirements (Orange, Yellow, Green,
and Blue) focus on building a foundation of knowledge and skill.
The intermediate belt requirements (Purple, Red and Brown) focus
on applying that knowledge and skill to real applications and to
extend their skills. The upper belt requirements (Pum Dan and Black)
would focus on training on advanced techniques, ensuring a complete
understanding of the total curriculum, and developing the ability
to teach the curriculum effectively.
